The CUT THE CRAP scope on Periscope

Heres the scope on Periscope and whether you should use it

(The CUT THE CRAP version, of course!)

 

Ive been seeing a lot of chatter in my FB news feed about Periscope and whether as a business owner its a good move to get on the Periscope train.

 

Have you thought, Can you actually make money and grow your business with Periscope?

 

Well, sure! You probably can. But should you?

 

So, today I am going to share what I REALLY think about it  – and how that applies to YOU.

 

BUT, before I tell you my opinionFirst, answer this…

 

1) Do YOU have a proven system/strategy to generate a steady stream of qualified leads on a constant and consistent basis that you are currently successfully deploying?

2) Do YOU have a proven system/strategy to sell more of your products, services, and offerings to these leads that you are currently successfully deploying?

 

3) Are YOU making at least $500k a year in your business by selling your products, services, and offerings to your leads?

 

If you said NO to any one of the above questions (even one!), then Periscope should be THE LAST THING you should be spending your time on right now. It will just be another one of those time sucking shiny bright objects that keeps you broke. Harsh but true!

 

If you cant build a list of leads and sell to those leads, STOP what you are doing and WORK ON THAT.

 

Its quite simple actually, and its really the only formula you need to have a successful business – though so many people make it so much harder.

 

But it makes perfect sense, RIGHT?!

 

BEFORE, I move on and address the other group who will be reading this, the group said YES! YES! YES! to all three questions above, I need to say this…

 

Some of you are thinking

Mara, cant I use Periscope to generate leads?

 

Sure! You probably can. But should you?

 

Here’s the deal… there are OTHER PROVEN and EASIER strategies that are WORKING RIGHT NOW to generate leads, and knowing that, I wouldnt put all of my lead generation eggs in the Periscope basket – so to speak. We all know Telesummits WORK. We all know Facebook Ads WORK. We all know that having affiliates promote a Lead Magnet WORKS. None of these strategies are the newest sexiest thingbut they WORK, and are more of a sure shot/less risk for your time, money, and energy. Its where Id focus my efforts – In fact I do.

 

Whew!

Let’s move on to the other group…

 

So, if you passed the test and said YES! YES! YES! to all three questions above, Should you really use periscope?

 

Heres my take:

 

When I first started using social media in business back in 2009 for the company my father started, GKIC, my approach was to be seen everywhere so we could stay top of mind for all of our clients, customers, and PROSPECTS. We did great, generating 7-figures from social media in under 1 year, but we hustled and had 3 full timers + an intern dedicated to the effort. My philosophy has since changed about this strategy of using every traffic platform available because what I found is that for most businesses, if they do too may things, they dont do anything with excellence or success.

 

NOW my philosophy is to MASTER one lead generation strategy, and do a damn good job at it, before adding another one.

 

So should Periscope be the NEXT strategy you master to generate more leads, make more money, and grow your business?

 

Here’s my take (and it might sound familiar) …There are OTHER PROVEN and EASIER strategies that are WORKING RIGHT NOW to build a business. We all know Telesummits WORK. We all know Facebook Ads WORK. We all know that having affiliates promote a Lead Magnet WORKS. We all know Web Tv WORKs. We all know Cold Emailing WORKS. And EVEN MORE that I havent mentioned here. There are probably many other PROVEN strategies that you arent using yet, and its safer to start there. It might not be as sexy as saying you are a Periscoper with over a million+ hearts, but whats really sexy to me is more money in my bank account. I bet you would feel the same way too.
